Porthluney Cove - Caerhays Beach

Porthluney Cove is situated on the south coast of Cornwall approximately half a mile south east of St.Michael Caerhays village. The cove is also known as Caerhays Beach and it is sheltered by Dodman Point which is just to the east. Just above the cove is Caerhays Castle, a semi-castellated manor house which was built from stone quarried locally. The castle garden covers 120 acres and is home to the largest collection of magnolias in England. The castle is open to the public at certain times of the year. Details Here.

Access to the cove and castle is in some parts via narrow Cornish country lanes. There is a large car park adjacent to the beach for which there is a charge and there are toilet facilities nearby.
