Minions

Minions is a village high up on Bodmin Moor 3.5 miles north of Liskeard. At 300 metres above sea level it is the highest village in Cornwall. Minions which derives from Minions Mound, a barrow just outside the village, has two large car parks and either one is a good place to start explorations of the surrounding area. This includes "The Hurlers", an iron age stone circle, "Rillaton Barrow", a large burial mound, "The Cheeswring" which is a rock formation on Stowes Hill above Minions and the South Phoenix Mine engine house which has been converted into the Minions Heritage Centre. The whole area presents many photo opportunities but involves quite a bit of walking. There are toilet facilities in the village.
