Lerryn

Lerryn is a tranquil and picturesque village 2.5 miles south east of Lostwithiel and is situated on the River Lerryn which is a tributary of the River Fowey. The river is tidal up to the village and although there is a bridge across the river there are also stepping stones 150 metres downstream from the bridge that can be crossed at low water. In days gone by it seems that smuggling was part of village life and there is even a lane in the village called "Brandy Lane". At high water is the best time for photographs of the village area but there are scenic walks downstream along either side of the river with excellent views for the photographer to capture. There is a small car park in the village but it does get busy during the summer months, especially at weekends. There are toilet facilities adjacent to the car park.
